Coming from a PHP background, im now learning ASP.NET.

 I just finished one video tutorial and i got curious about masterpage.

Are masterpage like headers?

MasterPages are more like Controls that get inserted into your .aspx page after the .aspx page has been rendered.

Scott Allen (from OdeToCode) said it best: 

"we shouldn?t treat master pages as the ?masters?, but as just another control inside the page."
