Master pages ?

I have created my master page all is working fine. each additional page has the same layout just like I wanted. Content holder does what I want. The problem is this. Prior to Yesterday each page I added and chose the masterpage would show the controls etc on that page in design view. My first page has some textbox's labels, dropdowns etc. all these would show in design view. Now all of a sudden my pages only show the masterpage set up until I run it in the browser. Then all shows as should. Hope I have made this clear. Any ideas from anyone on what has happend. Thanks.

Can you design the content page in the design view? I do not undersatnd you very clearly? Could you explain it in more detail?

My content page(s) do not allow me to design in 'design' view. I can work in 'source' view . I have checked all the declerations at the top of the pages, master and content and have found nothing missing/wrong. I have started a new project and the master/content pages seem to allow editing like normal, just not the main one I have been working on.

It may not be possible to work in design view if you're using nested master pages.

Does VS give you any error messages? Sometimes small things will prevent Design view from opening, such as run-in attributes like ID="button1"runat="server" (you need a space between these).

If there's an error message, it would be easier to help you.

Also, you aren't using nested master pages, are you? You won't be able to switch to design view if you are.
