I've been looking at this for too long - Menu issue4/11/2006 2:55:42 PM

I've just started converting an existing 1.1 application to 2.0 and decided I would replace my 3rd party menu control with the 'new' 2.0 menu.  I have the following code (very very simple for playing around purposes):

<%

@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default" %>

<!

DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<

html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<

head id="Head1" runat="server">

<title>Untitled Page</title>

</

head>

<body>

<form id="form1" runat="server">

<table>

<tr>

<td>

<asp:Menu ID="Menu1" runat="server" Orientation="Horizontal" >

<Items>

<asp:MenuItem NavigateUrl="default.aspx" Text="Book 0" Value="Book 0">

<asp:MenuItem NavigateUrl="~/default.aspx" Text="Page 1" Value="Page 1"></asp:MenuItem>

</asp:MenuItem>

</Items>

</asp:Menu>

</td>

</tr>

</table>

</form>

</body>

</

html>

When I run this code in IE I'm getting run-time error on line 3 (syntax error) and nothing works.  I'm also not getting the 'arrow' next to the Book 0 menu option to indicate a sub-menu exists.

This has got to be a really stupid oversite on my part but I'm at a loss.

Ted

One thing I noticed is that this </asp:MenuItem>  should be after every item and you have it twice after the second item and the first item is missing it.

I ran this little thing through Firefox and I'm getting the following error message in the JavaScript console:

Error: syntax error

When I click on the hyperlink, Firefox displays:

Does anyone have any idea how this would happen?

I think I have resolved the Syntax thing, it was caused by a security object that I developed.

Now when I hover over the menu I'm getting:

"Menu_HoverStatic is not defined"      AND

"Menu_Unhover is not defined"

Based on what I read these methods should be in the the Webresource.axd file.  Anyone have any ideas?
