don't include css files in a theme's sub folders by default3/8/2006 4:31:24 PM

--- question ---
how can i make my themes only include certain css files, preferably only the ones in the theme's root folder?

--- background ---
i have the following theme folder structure:

[app_themes]/
    [theme1]/
       [subfolder]/
          - style1.css
          - style2.css
          - style3.css
       - main.css
       - extra.css

what happens is that all of my [subfolder] styles are being automatically included in every page.  what i need to do instead is only include the css files in the root theme folder, in this case "main" and "extra".  i programatically include my [subfolder]'s files on certain pages to change their look, and having them all jump in by default is... bad.  these sub-styles are theme-specific and belong with a theme on a per-theme basis, so i would prefer not to have to put them somewhere else that doesn't make sense.

My question is why do you need to do this.   I know now way to do what you want, other than make a new theme for each set of css files you want.

i have different style sheets that apply to different products on the site.  for example product A would receive style sheet X.  product B would receive style sheet Y.  this means that product A has green borders, certain green background pictures, and white backgrounds for example.  all product B pages would have blue borders, blue-themed background pictures, and gray backgrounds.  these different product styling sheets are directly related to the theme and are not their own theme.

does that help?
