I saw lots of questions about client-side onclick event of treenode, so I tried to analyse the htc file and see that you can handle onclick event on a node like the following:

server side code:

treeView.Attributes.Add("onClick", "javascript:alert(event.srcElement.getTreeNode(event.srcElement.clickedNodeIndex).getAttribute("ID"));");

so you can get the ID of a node on click.
