Hi,

   I?m reaaaaly new to .Net, and i?m trying to use a treeview. The thing is a friend develope an ASP page with a treeview, and i want to use that object but i founded that for ASP.NET (v1.1) there is no examples for code behind, just tags and things pre writed. I really need help! there is a Treeview that is supported by microsoft??? IE Web controls are not supported and old! and i can?t find code-behind (vb) for example! HEEEEEEEEEELP!!!

Hi,

ASP.NET 1.x versions didnt ship with a built-in TreeView control.  However, IE Webcontrols do provide the TreeView Control which is not supported by Microsoft. 

Check http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnaspp/html/aspnet-usingtreeviewiewebcontrol.asp for source code and help.

       And there is a treeview that is created by microsoft and at the time supported?

Hi,

Yes you can bind an XML File to TreeView. I have written an article on how to bind only specific set of nodes from XML to a TreeView @ http://harishmvp.blogspot.com/2005/08/treeview-xml-xpath-show-part-of-xml.html.  May be you would find it useful.

Microsoft hasnt developed TreeView for ASP.NET (as far as I know).  The IE Webcontrols are not supported by Microsoft.

Microsoft provides a TreeView control with much more features in ASP.NET 2.0 (Whidbey) which is scheduled to be released by November 2005.

Till then, IE Webcontrols are the only choice for ASP.NET Developers, other than third party controls.
