Hi,
i am having a problem installing Web Controls. I followed the instructions written in the README file and the first two steps were succefully completed. The problem is when i tried to create a /bin subdirectory for the sample application and copy the file Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll to this directory. The file Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll does not exists. I think the problem after running "Build.bat", because the created build folder does not contain Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll. Instead there is only one folder, the Runtime folder. What should i do?
Please help me...Sad [:(]

In your Systems variable you must include the path of the Framework, the name of tehe variable is "Local"...

Example:
C:\Program Files\Support Tools\;C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN; C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322

Try with this,,,

Dear Antanna,
maybe your problem is that you have include on the System Variable "Local" the path of the Framework...

Example:
C:\Program Files\Support Tools\;C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN; C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322

Antanna,

I found a simple install package at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=FAC6350C-8AD6-4BCA-8860-8A6AE3F64448&displaylang=en .

It worked like a charm for me, and I didn't have to deal with the cumbersome instructions provided by the Readme file. Clearly the "Microsoft Content Management Server" product group was dissatisfied with the install, so they offered the .msi package (in the interest of landing CMS customers!).

The installation package installs the web controls as a software package that you can uninstall from control panel - add\remove programs. Nice!

Give it a try...if the .msi package "objects", you may have to "clean down" the pieces you have already installed.

I had this problem too.  The build.bat file does not contain a fully qualified path to the csc.exe program located within your dot net framework.  You must edit the build.bat file with the fully qualified pathname.  The csc.exe is located in your framework directory.  Once you add the path and execute build.bat, your dll will be generated.  You mgiht have to delete your already existing build directory to make this work.
