Problem in the alignment of the nodes in a tree11/2/2005 6:23:08 PM

0/0

This must be a pretty stupid question, but I am not being able to align properly the nodes in my tree!

In my tree the root nodes align just fine and nicely.

The expected behavior from  subnodes when the parent node is expanded is to align "left" ( all the begginings of the subnodes text aligned),slightly indented to the right and under the parent node( like Windows Explorer for instance)

Instead of these nice looking, left-aligned nodes that I see in any example on the Web, my subnodes are aligning "center". This is, the beggining of the subnodes texts are not aligned, making my tree a mess.

Please use your imagination to try to understand my little "pictures" below

This is what I would expect

    - Root1
         + Subnode1
         + Subnode2_with_longer_text
         + Subnode3
    + Root2
    + Root3

...and this is what I am getting...

- Root1
         + Subnode1
+Subnode2_with_longer_text
          +Subnode3
    + Root2
    + Root3

Is too bad I couldn't insert a screenshot. That would have made things much easier to explain. Anyway, if anybody could help me with this, I really appreciate it.

Thanks

Re: Problem in the alignment of the nodes in a tree11/3/2005 10:31:04 PM

After a while, I finally found what the problem was.

The Tree was inside a Table cell, and this cell was aligned center ( align="CENTER")

Apparently the tree , if it is in a table, takes the alignment property from that table.

Since I am not an expert in  ASP.NET ( and Web programming in general) I am not sure if this is something expected or not.

I'm still trying to find the way of having a tree properly aligned inside a CENTER-aligned table-cell.

suggestions?

Thanks
