How to add tabstrip controls9/4/2003 10:58:30 PM

Hi all,
I am using Visual Studio .Net 2002 and framework 1.0. The problem I am having is that I cannot find TabStrip control in .Net 2002. I tried to add it to my tool box but no luck. What I did was:
- Tools
- Customize Toolbox
- .Net framework component

I do not see the TabStrip component there as well as the MultiPage. Any ideas? Please help..Thank you.

From there, click the button "browse" and find the folder where "Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll" is located and highlight that dll file then hit "open", these controls will add to the .Net framework component box.

Thank you for the info and help. I looked all over the place and tried to find ?Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll?. Yet, no luck. Also, I have downloaded the Internet Explorer Web Controls Download Packages but have no ideas how to get the ?Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll?. Could you email me the .DLL file or tell me how to get the .DLL file from the Internet Explorer Web Controls Download Packages when you have a chance? Thank you very much and have a nice weekend. Hi Jimmy,
Well, Microsoft really makes our lives full of challenging.

Thank you for the time and help. Finally, I got it running. I think the trick is that we need to follow the instructions in readme.txt file in C:\Program Files\IE Web Controls directory. Does anyone know that why the Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll is not available in the first place? Anyway, problem solved. Thanks again. I think there must be a lot of people struggling on this too.

As far as I understand it, the Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls were not written by the ASP.NET team. They were written by another team (IE) who did not have time to fully complete them. Since the ASP.NET team saw value in them, the source code was made available to developers "as is". Since they were not written by the ASP.NET team itself and fell outside the scope of the 1.0 deliverables, they are not supported nor automatically included with ASP.NET products.
