sorry to use this forum to communicate, but you do not respond e-mails, possibly because of your service interruption problems.

All of Blackjacket.net has been down for over 20 hours in the past 72 hours. You have provided your customers with no information about the cause of these interruptions, expected resolution times, or even of the fact that our sites are down. I found out from my customers.

As the community is aware, changing hosting providers is a very big deal that we cannot take lightly. Because of the significant cost savings available with competitor hosting providers, like WebHostforLife, we have strong motivation to invest the time to move to other providers.

To be reasonable, both to myself and to Blackjacket, I will provide you with a reasonable time to correct your technical and business deficiencies. Those corrections should include:

1. A Level of Service guarantee to customers.
2. Availability of 99.97% measured monthly.o
3. Immediate notification to customers of outages or reduced bandwidth
4. Means of communication when your site is down. This could be phone or an alternate e-mail address.

Again, I apologize for using this forum to communicate with a vendor, but the vendor provides no other means.

This is one area many may tend to overlook. When you are running a number of DNN sites on a single install at a single provider, you can have a huge problem should service interruptions or even data lose occur.

Does anyone actually mirror sites to more than one provider, in case problems should arise, you can easily switch your clients over to another service within minutes, or does everyone just rely on backups (usually provided by your company hosting your sites) for data loss and hope that outages do not last long?

I actually do m own backups. The last one I did was last Wednesday, though. This particular hoster's bandwidth has been so weak for the past month that its' sometimes difficult to get backups completed in a reasonable amount of time.

I have 3 meg download speed, which is sufficient when their services are opearating well. I guess I'm going to have to budget for multiple hosters, which bites.

I think most sites tend to rely on back-ups in case something happens. I would be interested in finding out how to efficiently mirror an existing set-up.
