Anyone have recommendations for Website Design?9/27/2005 2:42:28 PM

0/0

We are currently looking at hiring someone to design a website for our K-12 school district.  Does anyone know of a company that has experience with this type of design?

We're currently running DNN 3.1, and would like to continue using this software if at all possible.

Please contact me at [email protected] if you have any suggestions.

Look in snowcovered (seems to be down) for companies that sell skins. There are some that make custom skins.

Honestly, you can probably get someone to either create one pro-bono or cheap... Then, there's the skin option, too. They're generally pretty cheap.  It just depends on what you want to do with the skin.

Thanks for the responses, although I think I need to make my request needs a little more definition.

Our website, www.mapsnet.org is up and functioning right now.  However, there have been numerous requests to have it redone.  We have been "directed" to locate a company that has experience with educational websites to re-design it completely, so it's not just a skinning issue.

I'm posting this request on the DNN forums because we'd like to continue using DNN as our CMS if at all possible, and hope to reach some professional DNN developers.

Hi Dan,
I will have a  site up in 10 days or so, that includes sophisticated functionality for linking schools, students and parents.
It is architected to provide a business solution to a school environment  in the areas of information dissimination and class management tasks.  While it can also support a college class management, it is primarily oriented towards environments with parents' involvement - middle school and high school can take advantage of all features, but there is great benefit to k-8 as well.

While the site is built using DNN + other application technologies, the core applications functionality can be integrated with any other DNN site through Iframes or separate windows.

The good news is that the basic functionality is free for particpating schools, and my 'basic' is far better than expensive commercial systems. Some phenomenal permium features will be introduced by a technology development early next year.

While I was planning to address a whole school district situation later on, I believe that some very useful functionality can be introduced short term. If you are interesting in exploring it, let me know.

The url for the site is http://ww.MyChildSchool.org  (right now it is not up, but will be within 10 days).
