Hey Lee,
Thanks for the links. I found this graph on a generic evaluation site.
http://www.webhostmagazine.com/bg/DisplayReview.asp?revID=48 I think it would be kind of cool to have a "module development contest" for a "performance evaluation dotnetnuke module".
It could run on dnn 3.2.0 and dnn 4.
Once developed it could be used on sites like yours, or the dotnetnuke site itself, to do public performance evaluations of specific hosting companies trying to "brand themselves" as DotNetNuke hosting superstars.
This proposed DNN module could be flexible enough to type in any criteria like above for "ideal DNN hoster qualities" and then let current and past clients type in their opinions. It would of course be opinion based but sometimes that is most important.
Another dnn module could be developed for "fact based evalutions". We could call it "response time and up time monitoring". It could poll any site you tell it to and provide visual graphs of "actual end-user response times and web-site uptimes".
Special Note: web-site uptime is far more important to customers than the overall server uptime. For example, a server overall can be up 100% of the time but the actual customer websites may only be up 50%. So customer website uptime fact based statistics would really be handy to know when doing hosting company evaluations.
So fact based statistical monitoring can be used in conjuntion with opinion based performance evaluations to really help people looking for quality DNN hosters make good decisions.
Thanks again for all your comments posted!
