'Administrators Guide to DotNetNuke'10/16/2003 1:35:58 AM

0/0

Hi all,

I have written an 'Administrators Guide to DotNetNuke' which I am selling as a subscription through my portal for USD $14.95.

Purchasing it gives you:

- access to download the manual in PDF format for 12 months
- access to all updates to the manual during that 12 months

The guide is currenty 88 pages and I believe it is a good desktop item for Administrators/webmasters to kickstart their entry into the DotNetNuke world.

I have been giving it to my clients as part of my training/hand over of new portals. It has been really helpful to leave something with them after a training session that they can refer back to.

If anyone is interested, you can view the Table of Contents and a sample page at http://www.nexxus.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=329. You can also register to the portal and sign up for the download here as well.

Guy's,
"....to kickstart their entry into the DotNetNuke world." this kicks butt! and 12 months for only USD $14.95, it's a steal!

If the document is anything like the rest of your work. Anyone who uses it will have a decided advantage over those who don't. I think 14.95 is trivial, and anyone who raises issue with it values niether their time or yours.

And if "I" failed to thank you for your great site and contributions, shame on me. Thanks.

Rock on Lorraine,
Joe Johnston

A printed version of the 'Administrators Guide to DotNetNuke' is now available from Cafe Press http://www.cafeshops.com/DNNadminGuide. Unfortunately, the PDF was too bulky as an online resource.

Just a quick note (sorry for the self promotion but it is just such a quick way to spread the news!) to say that due to much lamentation from the DNN community ? I am once again offering the manual in PDF format as an online download. For details go to http://www.dnn.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=329

Lorraine,

I have some questions about the admin manual. Do you offer the manual in word format? The users of my portal have no access to any of the admin features other than tab and module admin. I would also like to add in documentation for he custom modules I have written and change the screen shots to match my intranet

Thanks
Bert

Hi Lorraine
With DNN 2.0 getting closer - should I also wait to buy the admin guide? Or will you update the manual and make that available to existing customers?

Nick,
It is available as a yearly subscription, so you can buy now. You will get updated versions as they become available.

Lorraine i found your guide incredibly useful. as a "networking" guy with no real asp or html experience, i was able to install and configure a new intranet where none was previously.

with your admin guide, and these forums, i got the intranet looking unique, with windows authentication and have received much kudos from people at work.

your guide is money well spent.

Hi Nick,

Yes, as Leigh said, whenever you buy it you get 12 months of updates.

I expect the version 2 manual will follow the release of version 2 by only a couple of days as it is already underway.

Hi, and thanks for a great document. Money well spent. I am wondering if the topics will be expanded to cover the Host area of the project in depth?

For example, what happens when you mark a module as premium. How do you use that module? And so on...

Thanks, Charles

Hey, Lorraine ...
Where can we get the most recent version of your guide?

Is there a DNN 3 update?

We have puchased two levels of subscriptions but it's been a while since we developed in DNN - are re-starting and could use your excellent guide asap ...

thanks -

I think you'll find that the final release would need to be out before a guide would follow - it might be soon after.

Lorraine would be a gamer person than I to release a DNN 3 release, prior to it being officially launched...

Lorriane has finished the DNN 3 Guide but it wont be released until DNN 3 is officially released as the likelyhood of change is still there. So keep a look out and the guide will be ready for you very soon.

The price on the site says $29 instead of 14.95.
Has the price gone up?
