I want to set up a community site where authorised users can add content (with or without an approval step). In other words users can publish articles that are summarised with a teaser line on the home page. Ideally articles would have an expiry date and you could search through all articles.

The standard announcement module is a bit limited for what I want to do. Are there other modules, which are better designed for this purpose?

Any suggestions greatfully received.

There is a Great news article module that originally was done by Robert (core team member) but it is not ported to DNN2 yet. I think Scott has plans to release this and it does have approval process in it, the date for the release is soon as I have heard.
