From the installation guide of DotNetNuke:

The fifth setting (?InstallMemberRole?) optionally installs the MemberRole
provider?s scripts. As these scripts require a higher SQL Server permission setting, some
hosting providers may not allow these scripts to be run. If your hosting provider does
not provide these permissions you will need to ask them to install the scripts, before you
install DotNetNuke. Also, if you are sharing a Database with other applications that use
the MemberRole provider (for instance Community Server), then depending on whether
the other application is already installed you may not want to re-run these scripts.

I seem to have this problem. I cannot run the installation process on my host server with the InstallMemberRole set to 'true' had to put it 'false'.

My question is : what exactly am I supposed to ask my host provider to do ??

The techs at HostExcellence.com aren't very cooperative with my DotNetNuke installation. However they assured me that DNN can be installed.

Hmm. If your hosting provider isn't going to help you out, you really could be stuck. Some providers do have a set up where you don't need them, but, I've never heard of HostExcellence, so I can't say.

I don't know what you could tell them exactly, but if things don't work out, then I'd recommend just changing over to a provider like www.PowerDNN.com or something. They really know DNN inside and out and have some of the absolute best support ever.
