Hey everyone, I am new to all this, so sorry for asking beginner questions...and THANK everyone for taking to time to help people like me Big Smile [:D]

I am hosting at GoDaddy and I successfully uploaded DNN 3.0.13. When I tried to upload two modules NukeNews 1.3 and MediaGallery 1.7 I got an error that started out as:

Someone explained to me that it might be the user settings on the SQL server. I have the deluxe packafe, and I have access to the SQL server through a small admin. Does anyone know if this is the problem I am having, if so, how do I make these changes on the SQL server (please make the instructions for SQL server for dummies), and is it possible at all to do this on the GoDaddy servers?  If this is not possible, can anyone recommend another hosting companie that would give me access to this, and for an affordable price.

All of those denials revolve around the master database, where details are held of all database schemas and object details, as well as server level settings, so it looks like GoDaddy have locked them down to prevent users profiling. For instance the sp_datatype_info stored procedure has a default that allows the public role to execute it. As all users are in the public role automatically, and it can't be dropped that would indicate that the procedure has had an explicit deny added to it.

Mu gut instinct here is that GoDaddy are being too restrictive as all the INFORMATION_SCHEMA views only show objects the user currently has permissions to, so they're no use to profile or hack (unless a hacker has gained access to a site, and wants to see what objects they have access to). It could be argued that this is good protection, but at the cost of functionality. As hosting companies don't (naturally) publish their security setups, I couldn't recommend another one, but I'd guess that most wouldn't be this secure/restrictive (*delete as per opinion)

I can't find it now but when I was looking at using GODADDY I found information that said  you can only use the core modules. Now this may have changed since then.

I've actually got some updated scripts for my modules (and several customers using the modules) that work on godaddy.com...  Just had to make some adjustments as to how the scripts were written...
