Now available at http://www.elphick.com.au/DNN/OurModules/YourIP/tabid/164/Default.aspx.

This free module will present to the user their IP Address.  It is a very simple module that some may find useful if they are using tools to connect to a client PC where the client user has fairly limited skills. 

Work is in progress to provide an email feature for this module.  If you're interested in testing this new feature, please reply to this post.

Simple but nice. Just a suggestion. Make those strings localized (use the resx files)

Another one: use the geoip to display the user's country.

CountryListBox is the control used by the DNN registration page. It has the ability to detect the user country based on the user IP. It uses a free database from http://www.maxmind.com/app/standard

You can use this control on your own pages. It was very useful for me.

I've now updated the module to include:

- localisation (now I understand the benefits)

- country

- email

Some comments:
I could not completely localise (default settings still coded) due to my limited knowledge with applying a setting before the module has been fully loaded onto a page.
The new country feature thinks that I'm in France, when I'm actually in Australia, so I'll be interested to see how it works for others.  For this reason I've turned the option off by default.
The email seems to work when sent to some email addresses but not others, though I have a suspicion that this is due to my mail server settings.  The email is driven by the same code as the DNN feedback module.
