Dev environment really slow to load DNN4/4/2005 12:05:38 PM

I am working on some more custom modules.  When I run the DNN in debug mode the environment takes anywhere from 50sec to 2min to load the browser!  Any suggestions how to shorten this?

In my tweaking i found the Trend Micro Serverprotect Real Time scanning was killing my performance, then i put in the blowery and now have pretty good performance, I am now looking through the worker process and seeing if i can have that stay up rather then break down after 15 minutes.

Or like some people said to me maybe the machine is jsut slow.

Have you tried to make a separate solution for any of your custom modules? Since the modules only depends on DotNetNuke.dll, and the SQLDataProvider depends on DotNetNuke.dll & Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.dll it's pretty easy to setup.

In this way, after compiling that solution you must copy the .dll to the bin\ directory of the DNN installation and/or the corresponding .ascx you've just changed into DesktopModules\YourModule\

In my machine (1.7 Ghz) it takes about 10-15 secs to refresh. Obviously, it depends of the complexity of your code.

Perhaps it's hard to debug this way... but maybe not impossible
