Hi all, I have lots of fun modifying Personal Web Site Starter Kit, and my next starter kit project will be club site. I have seen many done a great job on their PWS. I created a SK Club (starter kit club) which is collecting those site developed based on the asp.net 2.0 starter kit. it will be a place you show off what you have done to your own SK. Its interesting to see how some css changes can dramatically change the look, and also how some sites have adapted the starter kit to add functionality to their sites.

Hello,

Your site and the other showcase all look good. I noticed that your site loads quickly while others (including mine) is still crawling on start up even with the precompiling the code. Is there another trick? I am getting ready to give up on asp.net giving the start up time :(, please help!

The out of box PWS is slow, that has nothing to do with asp.net 2.0 performance. there are several major design flaws that will impact the performance significantly once you have lots of photos especially large size photos.

So far I found these major 3 drawbacks in starter kit(PWS)

1) getphotos store procedure

looking at these, some of them look great...

is there an easy way of giving your own site a 'colour wash', without being a graphic artist??

some people seem to have changed the background image colours, to reds, blues, whites etc from the original yellow - is this easy to do or is it a case of manually creating all the images required??

sorry to trouble you again - when you say instantly, do I copy all my aspx files plus directories into the WWW folder when I have set myself up with these aspdotnet.sk people? do I split my APP_Data folder into the /DATA directory? or do I ignore the WWW and DATA directories and just copy my Club Starter directory structure straight into the root?

As far as I know, you need to replace the image to get a customized look and feel. change the style sheet will help some, but the image such as background, header, footer, photo frame still there. Hello All,

I'm the owner and developer of the HorrorHound site listed above, just curious how your able to tell these sites were created based on the starter kits. Like you mentioned some of the sites listed above like mine have been dramatically changed using CSS and/or added/removed functionality.

Started development on my own ASP.NET 2.0 Forums but wondering if anyone out there have found some pure ASP.NET 2.0 forums out there yet?
