How to Redirect to a Subdirectory8/16/2006 3:52:01 PM

I have my clubsite in a sub-directory, and need a way to redirect users from the root directory to the subdirectory where the clubsite lives.  When users nav to the main url it's taking them to the root directory and they get a temporary default.aspx page I placed there that gives them the "under construction" page.  I implemented the clubsite using the VB version. I think I should be able to use a default.aspx page in the root directory and do some form of redirect....to accomlish this, but have not been able to make it work.  I'm new, so likely this is Operator Error.  Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Doug,

Just use

Server.Transfer("/subdirectory/default.aspx")

from your top-level default.aspx page.

Thanks for the info.  I this and several variations and all I got was a webpage that had this code listed.  I could never get it to transfer me to another directory.  Probably missing something.

Any other ideas?

Sounds like you might not have that subdirectory set up as an IIS application directory.  Contact your ISP, and tell them you need that folder to be executable.  That's what I have to do with my provider (Alentus.com).
