Paid features with PayPal integration?5/22/2007 9:59:01 AM

Hello,

I've been searching the forums looking for someone that has extended the Classifieds to use PayPal (or other merchant) and a Shopping Cart (checkout) to process paid features.
 
Has anyone heard of someone that has already done this?  I know there's a PayPal Starter Kit, has anyone merged the features?
 
I just thought I'd check before I spend a lot of time doing it.  I run a Classified site that I created over 10 years ago in ASP as a learning exercise.  The site is ugly now in today's standards, but it still runs and gets about 7,500 page views per month.  It's for the city I live in.  I charge $3 for the user to place a web link (URL) and get an average of 3 per month. (Whoohoo!)  I also charge a few bucks for longer running Ads and for banner advertising.  All the money goes to my web host, so I don't see any of it.  My buddy owns the local hosting company but may be selling.
 
I'm interested to hear what Paggy4u has to say about ideas on revenue generation.  I did read your post http://forums.asp.net/t/1050078.aspx.

Hi Mike

This is exactly what i am doing.  I am currently building a site, where users will pay to post an ad.  My intentions are to integrate CSK 2.0 and the Classifieds Starter Kit, to make an "Uber" Kit.

I have nearly finished the custimizing the Classifieds Kit, and am about to start on the CSK part using Paypal.

I will post my findings in a couple of weeks.

Hi there,

Yes - this is not too complex - we have done this on our properties website (www.propertyclever.co.uk) we fire off the details to the Paypal interface and then assuming we get an appropriate response an ad goes live.

We finally got the site up and running for our client.  We have full Pay Pal integration.

http://www.usedguns.net.au

Basically modified the postad.aspx to to create an order, then fires it off to PayPal for payment using PayPal Standard.

Hi all,

i am working with paypal for money transaction

i am sending the amount details , return url etc to the paypal after transaction   it is coming to my site i am showing the approved or declined details so far is ok.

at the last page of paypal site that shows u the "RETURN TO MERCHANT"  in that page view source there is details of transaction   i want to get the               "transaction id "  which is in hiidden   like txn_id  

i want to get the transaction id    can any one help me out

using express checkout,doexpresscheckout ,pdt,inv we can do this

but i tried hard    no use

can any one clearly give details how to do this
