Can we apply changes to all browsers?6/2/2006 9:07:57 PM

0/0

I haven't had a chance to play with these yet, but when we move to .NET 2.0 these sound like a must-have. My only concern is the apparent need to specify which browsers it applies to. Can we just specify that the CSS version is used for all browsers, regardless?

I don't want to keep track of the hundreds of browsers that are out there, or style my controls twice for two different sets of HTML - I just want to code an XHTML/CSS site that degrades gracefully in older browsers.

If you put refID="Default" in the browser file it will let you specify the adapter to use for all browsers. The only bad thing I find is that once you set a "Default", if there is some quirky logic in a specific browser it won't let you override the "Default" setting. It will use the "Default" no matter what other refID's you specify, at least that is what it does for me.

Best Wishes,

Paul

That's fine. I'd prefer to cope with browser quirks in the CSS anyway rather than specifying a different rendering of the control's HTML.

Thanks Paul.
