Option Strict in Designer.vb files

I have "Option Strict" turned on for my Web Application project, however the code gen files (xxx.designer.vb) still generate code with "Option Strict Off" in them.

I'd like to see the code generator take notice of the project settings and do the appropriate thing for the generated code.
