After successful converting a Web app from 1.1 to 2.0 WAP, Solution won't open??

I did another/a different application and it open up and I was able to follow the written directions and right click on the Solution and "Convert to Web Application", but...

This other application, just fails to open and fails to show in my "Recent Projects".

After days of fumbling around with mainly vs2005 items and multiple tries to convert the application I was referring to above...

I just created a blank solution and did the conversion to that solution and was "okay" after that.
