I would like to know how to get 2008 to work with .net 2.0 insted 3.5 my web server onley has 2.0 installed . Every time I upload the web.config I get an error .

Remove all references to .NET 3.5 in the web.config.  Furthermore, don't use any new features and you should alright with .NET 2.0.

You should, however, try to get your web server upgraded.

If you are opening an existing site, simply say 'no' to upgrade to 3.5. You can also change target framework in the Web site properties dialog.
