vs2008 asp.net configuration menu option missing1/28/2008 7:47:35 PM

I keep seeing reference material telling me to go to Website - ASP.NET Configuration to set up various options in .net

However, when I open my website in vs2008, and click on the website menu, there is no asp.net configuration option. The closest to that i have is web permissions, which just opens the IIS sharepoint/frontpage web interface.

Is there something special i have to do to enable this?

thanks

If you look in solution explorer with your website open, the furthest icon on the right is for ASP.NET Configuration. Does this icon appear for you? If your website is a remote web (frontpage), you will not see this icon and need to set up asp.net configuration on the server.

when i have solution explorer open, the icons i have are:

properties - refresh - nest related files - view class diagram - copy web site

This site is not hosted on my local machine. It's on a remote server.

You said I'll need to set up asp.net configuration on the server - do you mean i need to install something? or that I'll only be able to use this option when working locally on the server (or working locally on my machine) ?

thanks

The latter, you can only use this option when working locally.
