BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH TCPIP.SYS ERROR11/27/2005 6:14:14 PM

0

DOTNETNUKE 4.0 is now running (http://forums.asp.net/1118664/ShowPost.aspx) and I have been able to make changes, but ever since its been running I have been having problems with my computer crashing when I'm in ADMIN mode on my dotnetnuke site.  It usually happens when I either click to edit something on a module and mostly when I click update to save the changes I've made.  The Blue Screen of Death comes up and the error message includes the following:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

***STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X1200001C, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0XEDEF6987)

*** tcpip.sys- ADDRESS EDEF6987 base at EDEED000, Datestamp 4294cc20.

This only happens when I'm changing something in admin mode on my dotnetnuke site.  I don't know if this is something with my dotnetnuke settings.  Does anyone know why I am getting this message and/or how to resolve it?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Jon

Itt would help other assist you if you would include your system setup.
O/S
ASP.Net Version
SQL version
IIS Version
Browser type and version
DNN version and whether it's local or remote install on a host
Computer info (type, memory, disk space etc)
Applications running (firewall, virus protection, etc)

It sounds more specific to your machine rather than DNNv4.0.  VS2005, and SQL2005 default hardware configs require more resources, so depending on your setup, there could be some issues with loss of resources. So many variables, just saying my computer doesn't give folks anyplace to start, IMHO.

This is not just for your post, but many others are posting without providing any info, and it's almost impossible to zoom in on the real issue w/o some background...

O/S: Windows XP Professional SP2
ASP.Net Version: 1.1 and 2.0.  For this application I'm using 2.0
SQL version: SQL Express and SQL Server 2005, for this application I'm using SQL Express
IIS Version: 5.1
Browser type and version: Internet Explorer 6 with SP 2 update
DNN version and whether it's local or remote install on a host: 4.0 right now it's local.  If I deploy to web host can I still edit code and update website remotely?  If so, this may solve my problem, but if I will still need to build and test on my machine I need to get this issue resolved.
Computer info (type, memory, disk space etc): Dell Dimension 8400 Pentium 4 3.4GHz, 1 GB Ram, 145 GB hard drive with 109 GB free space
Applications running (firewall, virus protection, etc): Mcafee antivirus and firewall.  Virus scan and Personal Firewall Plus are set to protecting status.

Please refer to the post listed above(in my original question) to see problems I faced before and if changes I made may be leading to this issue.

Please help!!

Thanks,

Jon

Can you list the changes you made before this started happenning?  I've got a similar setup sans the pc, but am using sql2005 rather than sqlexpress.  No problems with either version running on my machine.  I've made some changes, recompiled the projects, and still it's running fine.  Now, the only thing I'm not running on my local workstation is the Mcafe antivirus, but do have firewall and router taking care of blocking.  I'm wondering if running antivirus software and dnn, or any web app is the source?

Each time the error occured, I was making changes using the admin login.  I was changing site settings and page settings.  Sometimes, I would click edit text and get the message.  It seems to be anything related to admin mode and updating changes that I have made.

Thanks,

Jon
