Gallery module install fails - DNN 3.1 on godaddy6/19/2005 2:50:16 AM

I have DNN 3.1 installed on a godaddy hosted site (manual install not the 1-click install). I tried to install the gallery module (GalleryPA_3[1].0.10) downloaded from dotnetnuke.

On the module install I get the error below. The error happens at the start of the Registering DesktopModule portion.


ExceptionSystem.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: type at System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type type, Boolean nonPublic) at DotNetNuke.Framework.Reflection.CreateObject(String TypeName, String CacheKey) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstaller_V3.GetDesktopModuleSettings(DesktopModuleInfo objDesktopModule, PaFolder Folder) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.RegisterModules(PaFolder Folder, ArrayList Modules, ArrayList Controls) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.Install(PaFolderCollection folders) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

I found the answer at this link: http://forums.asp.net/953782/ShowPost.aspx . You have to replace a line in the gallery.dnn file. See the link for details.

After making this change the install worked fine.
