I'm trying to deploy the extended starter kit of classifieds to the host server of discountasp. What changes should I make to get it work.

For example, how to change the connectionstring. This is the one in the kit.

If anyone could provide me a step-by-step instruction on how to deploy the extended starter kit, that would be really appreciated.

I did the extension of the starterkit. Please try this http://www.connectionstrings.com/?carrier=sqlserver2005 to see samples of connection strings you can use. I checked the page you referenced and the instructions they gave you is correct. The ONLY thing different is that they are using two databases, but in the extended version, I merged the two into one. Dot Net, has a utility that will do this for you.

If you can post your Webconfig, (REMOVE ALL SENSITIVE STUFF) I will take a look at it to see if I can help.

hi,,

1. Install microsoft publish databse tool

2. click both databse file one . This will open files in server explorer. Right click and choose publish script.

3. Create sql server database on local server.

4 Execute both  scripts on databse.

5. Configure web.config( see my posts. u will find web.config settings)

6 create administrator from administrate web site.

7 Upload website.

8. create other users.

..................

do tha same steps on web host server.(dont forget to change server name on web.config.)
